Why Are We Here?

To live life to the utmost you’ll need to answer the “Why, Where and What of life.” Why are you here in the first place? Where are you going after here? What will you like to leave behind? This is the secret to living life on purpose and to the utmost measure.

So, Why are you here in the first place? I guess the easy answer is we are here for God’s glory. [Isaiah 43:7; Genesis 1:26-28; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 1:16, 3:17; Revelations 4:11] The Westminster Catechism puts it like this
Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
Wow! So aptly captured. That leads us to Stephen Covey’s Habit number 3, “Put First Things First.” That we see clearly laid out for us in the greatest, and sum total, of God’s commandment. [Matthew 22:36-40; Mark 12:28-34; Luke 10:25-28] Simply stated,
We are here for God and for one another.

Do you know your purpose? Are you living it?
Our lives only find meaning in God, and that which that relationship produces. The first product of our relationship with God is our relationship with our own self. Second is, our relationship with one another from the foundation of our relationship with God and our own self. That is why Dr. Stephen R. Covey so rightly broke the seven habits into three parts, “Winning the War within” (first three habits), “Winning the War Without” (the next three habits) and “Making it Enduring” (the last and seventh habit).

Do you know your purpose? Are you living it? So, you can further see where the three supposed rich men, in the gospels, missed it. [Matthew 19:16-30; Mark 10:17-31; Luke 12:13-21, 16:19-31] They had no clue why they were here. Do you? Do you know the problem you were born to solve? [Ephesians 2:10] Do you know the aspect of God you were born to exhibit?
